Come and join us at The Abbey as we welcome Professor Jackie Akhavan, who will be giving a talk about explosives!

Explosives have been part of our lives for many years with the first recording of an explosive powder being used in China in 220BC. Nowadays explosives are part of our everyday life; they are in airbags, ejector seats and fireworks as well as propulsion for space shuttles, demolition aids and underwater cutting charges for off-shore gas lines.

Last week, we hosted our breathtaking annual Gala Concert!

This piece holds a special place in our hearts as it was composed by our very own sixth former, Mia! What you are about to hear is its world premiere, and we couldn't be prouder. Bravo, Mia!

All of our talented musicians left us in awe with their mesmerising performances that night. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for this unforgettable evening!

Bethany Bricks was last seen four days ago as she set off on her mission to discover the lost kingdom of an ancient jungle tribe.

Disaster struck as her plane crash landed deep in the Bricktopian Jungle. In a race against time, the rescue crew, (that’s you) will need to be locked and loaded with creative ideas to find Bethany before it’s too late!

If you're a girl aged between 4 and 6, and think you have what it takes, come and join us at Abbey Gardens for another Brickies Lego Workshop, and help find Bethany.

Introducing today's #SportingSuperstar: Debbie Jevans! A British former tennis player turned sports executive, Jevans is a trailblazer in the world of sports administration.

Notably, she made history as the first female chief executive to organise a Rugby World Cup and as the pioneering woman appointed director of sport for an Olympic Games.

Her leadership during London 2012, overseeing a massive staff and budget, earned her widespread acclaim and solidified her reputation as an exceptional figure in sports management.

Despite the scarcity of women in top sports leadership roles, Jevans has been a vocal advocate for gender equality in the field, recently advocating for the consideration of quotas, despite her initial reservations.

Our Lower School students have been pouring their energies into rehearsals for ‘Emil and the Detectives’ - a co-production with @reading_sch.

Young Emil is robbed while travelling alone in 1920s Berlin and he teams up with a gang of child detectives to find the thief, and a gripping chase ensues across the city.

Today marked the technical rehearsal - a time to fine-tune every detail for the big performances tomorrow and Thursday!

We are privileged to have the splendid South Street Theatre as our rehearsal and performance venue.

Grab your tickets while you still can! Head over to The Abbey’s events page on the website.
