Outstanding examination results consistently place the School amongst the best in the country, and thanks to the International Baccalaureate, among the best in the world.

Most importantly, this means all our students progress to leading higher education institutions and to the courses that are right for them.

IB Results Summer 2023

In total around half of the cohort received scores of 40 or more out of a maximum of 45. They go on to a range of excellent courses at world-leading institutions, including:

  • Spanish and Latin American studies at UCL
  • Archaeology at Cambridge
  • Biological Sciences with Spanish for Science at Imperial
  • English Literature at Manchester
  • Chemistry at Bristol

Overall students averaged 38 points, dwarfing the global average, and reinforcing The Abbey’s position as the leading IB provider in the county and one of the leading all-girls’ IB schools in the world.

Head Will le Fleming said: “For these students, the IB Diploma represented their first public examinations thanks to the disruption of Covid. We send them our heartfelt congratulations. We’re so proud of the way they went about the task, the tenacity and commitment they’ve shown, and the results they have secured. We’re also so grateful for the passionate and tireless support of staff.

“As always, what matters is not just what they go on to do, but how they go out into the world: with the confidence, purpose and joy to make a difference. We’ve loved supporting them on their journey and wish them all the best with everything that lies ahead.”
