House Music
Last week, after a long wait, the House Music competition returned to the Junior School.
After the disappointment of 2020’s competition cancellation, our students were raring to go and over 100 individuals represented their houses in the solo classes.
From piano to harp and electric guitar to bassoon, the audience were entertained by performances on a wide range of instruments and in a variety of musical genres.
All students from Upper Prep through to Lower III also participated in the competition by singing with their house. The daunting task of selecting winners for each year group fell to our experienced team of judges – Mrs Jenny Brown, Miss Suzanne Newman and our very own Ms Bilkey.
After listening to the performances and deliberating, the results in each year group were as follows:
Upper Prep – Carrington
Lower I – Carrington
Upper I – Kensington
Upper II – Kensington
Lower III – Ducat
The overall winners of the 2021 Junior School House Music Competition were Carrington. Mrs Adams would like to extend a big ‘well done’ to all who took part and, of course, huge thanks to our judges for giving up their time to be with us.
