Upper III Bonding Day

Bonding Day! An incredibly fun day; completely devoted to learning more about other people and your house. Activities included ‘I’m an Abbey girl get me out of here!’, which had lots of puzzles and activities that you solved as two groups, and ‘House party!’, where we got to know the names of all the students in our house.

We answered questions on the board that we discussed together and saw the different opinions each of us might have, Abbey Girls Got Talent/The X factor, where we put together a silent movie, a dance, a poem, a song, or a piece of comedy and performed It to the house.

And last but definitely not least, we had arts and crafts where we got to meet our head or house and learned more about our house and the activities we do while in it. Overall I absolutely loved house day and I’m looking forward to the coming activities.

The X Factor

During this experience, we were able to complete activities within our houses. One of these activities was ‘The X factor’. Each house was split into five groups and then given a different theme. This meant that each group had to put their creativity to the test.

There were various options to incorporate their theme such as singing, dancing, silent movies and many more. Then we all performed the task given in our groups to the judges. It helped us to make new friends and feel more involved in our house groups. Harriet, UIII (Year 7)

I’m an Abbey girl, get me out of here!

I’m a Abbey girl get me out of here’ was a team building activity that involved the whole of UIIIs Carringtons. There were lots of challenges to do like: all getting through a hoop as fast as you could, lifting a pole to the ground with only your index fingers touching it and a puzzle when you had to get lots of animals across a river without them getting killed!

Friday Mashup

We did a few games to get us talking and discussing a range of different exciting topics. Which led to some interesting discussions! Then Mrs Burn challenged us to make the tallest tower we could out of newspaper and tape requiring teamwork and resilience and resulting in many new friends. We didn’t win but the winning lighthouse looked incredible. It was an amazing day and I made lots of brilliant new friends from my house.
