In STEAM club this week, we made ourown kalimba – a percussion instrumentmade with metal bars on a wooden framethat you can play with either your fingersor by beating it with a wooden stick.

We enjoyed making it and thenexperimenting to find out all the differentsounds it could make depending on howwe played it. We thought that it soundedbest if it was held in one hand and playedwith the fingers of the other hand.STEAM club, with Mrs Jones, has beenbrilliant this term and we really enjoyedmaking our own weather station andusing it to measure and record the localweather.

We each logged the wind direction, windspeed, temperature and rainfall at homeover a week and compared the resultsbetween us.
