Group 4 provide a detailed recount of last weekend’s Silver DofE Practice expedition: 

On Saturday we attended a DofE training day. It started with a long 3 hour hike covering a variety of terrains from woods to fields. We learnt how to navigate around the countryside using a map and compass to get to certain checkpoints by recognising surrounding landmarks. 

Unfortunately it rained the whole day and everyone got soaked but it was still a fun adventure. When we returned to the hall we used the trangia stoves to make a well deserved hot drink
