This week saw a landmark moment for The Abbey as we hosted our first art exhibition in the School’s new gallery space in Turret House. The IB Visual Arts students showcased their work in the beautifully transformed space, exploring a range of themes in their pieces including identity and emotions, the Tree of Life and portraits of New York. There was a range of work on show from printmaking to ceramics, paintings to sculptures and the students very much enjoyed presenting their work to parents, staff and fellow students. Art groups from Upper IV upwards have had the opportunity to visit the exhibition in lessons and lunchtimes this week and have hopefully found some inspiration in seeing the work of our Upper VI students. The gallery will be used to display work from across the school in a variety of exhibitions so do look out for news on this.
Our next exhibition will focus on our creative staff community, allowing pupils to see how creative the teachers, support and administrative staff are in their spare time!Back to newsroom
