German media and TV workshop

Lower V girls studying German tucked into a typically German breakfast of Pumpernickel (dark, slightly sweet rye bread) and Sonnenblumenbrot (wholemeal sour dough rye bread with sunflower seeds) with cheese and cold meats at the start of their media and TV workshop, led by Reading University's German Department. Through their outreach programme to schools, Reading University hopes to boost take up of languages at Sixth Form and university.

The purpose of the workshop was to introduce students to modern German media and a mainstream TV series. Media is one of the iGCSE Modern and Foreign Language topics and workshops like this give students an opportunity to apply their language knowledge to contemporary German culture.
