Electrifying! The Trans girls were transfixed, engaged and fascinated by their experiential learning on a trip to National Grid on Wednesday 7 February. Thanks to an Abbey parent who works for the organisation, they took part in workshops and a viewing gallery tour to find how electricity is generated and supplied to their homes and School. The girls had first hand insight into how this cold day in February would lead to increased demand for electricity and how National Grids' teams of engineers would forecast, supply and ensure its delivery.
On this introductory day into the concept of electrical energy Trans girls challenged their existing scientific beliefs through questioning and drew on historical and geographical knowledge developed in topic work this term.
