Gold Science CREST Award

Congratulations goes to Alice Hadjiloucos (2020). Alice left last year, but has just been awarded a Gold CREST Award for her project investigating “The Effect of Extreme Weather Events on Cosmic Rays” which she undertook during the first Lockdown as part of her extension work and preparation for university life.

A Gold CREST award requires students to undertake at least 70 hours of independent work on a subject of their own choosing, ensuring that it adds something new to the global scientific debate. In the case of Alice’s project, she undertook work that has never been done before and this was achieved during lockdown which meant that any support she had was provided on a remote basis.
