For the very first time, musicians from the Junior and Senior Schools will showcase their talents together in an evening of celebratory music at The Hexagon for the final day of our 130 anniversary celebrations.
One of the highlights of the evening will be the premiere of a work that was specially commissioned for the occasion with lyrics written by Abbey alumna Delphine Chalmers (2017) set to music by world renowned choral composer Bob Chilcott.
Our youngest performers from the Cantilena Choir are just 5-6 years old and they will perform alongside older vocalists and instrumentalists from the Junior School up to our Senior Harp Ensemble and Sixth Form Chamber Choir.
As well as a fun Gilbert and Sullivan medley, the varied programme will also include a work by Lin March who wrote The Abbey School Song. The evening will finish with a moving and inspirational whole cast number by choral composing duo Don Besig and Nancy Price, with the Abbey Staff Singers joining in the fun too.
This event is expected to sell out so please book your tickets early to avoid disappointment.
