Lower III experienced life during the Blitz last week, when they visited a local air raid shelter. It is a very sturdy above ground shelter designed to withstand bomb blasts that has survived to the present day. With sound effects and original artefacts, the experience greatly enhanced their study of World War II in History. The girls handled a gas rattle and a wind up siren and tried out some ARP helmets. We would like to thank the McDowell-Pratt family for enabling the girls to take part in this experience.
