Junior School News

Our Trans girls proved to be excellent hosts as they welcomed parents and grandparents to join them for a morning in School, rounded off with a delicious Autumn lunch. Families were invited to experience a lesson with the girls in order to get a flavour of the learning environment fostered in the classroom, gain an insight into our methodology and get a sense of the pace and style of learning and teaching encouraged at The Abbey. In Maths, the focus was on hands-on enquiry-based learning as the girls and their visitors estimated lengths before measuring them with different equipment. Rubbers were banned as girls and grown-ups alike were reminded that mistakes are an essential part of the learning process. In English, our other class had the chance to get creative, showing off their good humour by writing witty limericks.

After a busy morning learning, girls escorted their visitors to the dining room to enjoy a hearty, and heart-warming, Autumn lunch. Thank you to all our visitors for joining us today and to all our Trans girls for showing them the ropes!
