Our Upper I girls recently visited the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford as part of their Ancient Egypt topic, and spent a wonderful day looking at mummies and artefacts (some of which were over 4000 years old) as well as visiting the 19th Century art collection which includes pre-Raphaelite works inspired by Egypt.

It transpired that one of their Education Leaders for the day was none other than Kate Mervyn-Jones (1990) who has worked at the Ashmolean since 2013. Kate's love of History has endured ever since her Abbey days - she went on to study it at the University of Bristol - and she now draws on it to enthuse and inspire children when they visit the Museum. Our girls loved meeting Kate, and she was thrilled to catch up with students from the Abbey.
