Ruth was welcomed back to school as a guest speaker for the 2017 Senior School Speech Day.  She is a User Experience Designer with the digital media agency AKQA.  Previously based in London, she has recently relocated to the company’s New York office.

After leaving the Abbey in 2010, with ‘A’ levels in Economics, Business and Geography, Ruth went on to study Business Administration at the University of Bath, graduating in 2014 with a broad background in business and consumer behaviour.

Ruth’s industrial placement year was with AKQA, and upon graduating she secured a role with them working in User Experience.  She has since revelled in content strategy and information architecture projects for such clients as Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Nike and BP.

Addressing our students at Speech Day, Ruth talked about one’s courage being one’s power, and that this holds true across an entire lifetime.  Moving to New York is a new and exciting phase of Ruth’s life, and she has drawn on her own inner courage to seize the opportunity and make it happen.  More details of Ruth's inspiring speech can be found here.

We wish her every success in the Big Apple.
